This study examined the moderated mediating effect of self-compassion through invasiverumination in the effect of perceived stress on burnout. To this end, a survey was conductedon 319 adults, and the results are as follows. First, invasive rumination had a significant partialmediating effect in the relationship between perceived stress and burnout. Second,self-compassion had a moderating effect in the relationship between invasive rumination andburnout. Third, self-compassion moderated the mediating effect of invasive rumination on therelationship between perceived stress and burnout. This study tried to find an effectivecounseling intervention by revealing the role of invasive rumination and self-compassion in therelationship between perceived stress and burnout. Finally, the limitations and suggestions forfuture study were discussed.
