Using data from the 2020 Child and Youth Human Rights Survey, this study was conducted toconfirm the mediating effect of self-esteem and school life satisfaction in the effect of abuseexperiences from parents perceived by children and adolescents on suicidal thoughts. Of thetotal 8,623 respondents, data from 5,669 respondents, excluding those who did not respond,were used in relation to suicide accidents. The data were analyzed by SPSS 22.0. The results ofthe study are as follows. There was a correlation between parental abuse, adolescents' suicidalthoughts, self-esteem, and school life satisfaction. The mediating effects of self-esteem andschool life satisfaction were a partial mediating in the relationship between parental abuse andadolescents' suicidal thoughts. Based on the results of this study, it can be seen that varioussupport and education are needed to help reduce suicidal thoughts by improving adolescents'self-esteem and school life satisfaction.
