This study attempted to identify the difference in the level of ego-integration, a developmentaltask of the elderly, according to the searched volunteer activity class by classifying the type ofvolunteer activity of the elderly. For the study, a latent class analysis was conducted on 305elderly volunteers based on the response pattern with 15 observable variables. As a result of theanalysis, the potential class of volunteer activities for the elderly was classified into three, andthese were named as 'social contribution and growth orientation', 'social contribution', and'leisure participation'. As a result of research the difference in self-awareness, a task ofdeveloping old age according to the latent class, it was found that the social contribution andgrowth-oriented group had a significant difference in overall ego-integration and attitudeperception toward current life compared to other groups. Based on the results of the study, theimportance of participating in volunteer activities in old age was recognized, and a plan torevitalize volunteer work for the elderly was suggested to meet the identity and roleexpectations of elderly volunteers.
