The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between feelings of suicidalideation and emotional control and mindfulness in the elderly. The results of this study are asfollows. First, the factor analysis of the emotional control showed that there are four factors. Second, as a result of analyzing the relationship between emotional control type andmindfulness, control disorder, confused, as well as neglected type showed significantly negativerelation to mindfulness. Third, there was positive relationship between mindfulness and thesuicidal thoughts, indicating that for the elderly who fail to take care of their minds, suicidalthoughts are getting worse. Fourth, in the relationship between emotional control and thesuicidal thought, mindfulness was perceived to be partially or completely mediated dependingon the types of emotional control. The results of this study clearly show that the relationshipbetween emotional control type and suicidal ideation plays a mediating role in mindfulness.
