This study aims to investigate the mediator effect of meaning in life while recognizing theeffect of self-examination on post-traumatic growth. To this end, a nationwide online surveywas conducted targeting 300 people who had undergone traumatic events. A correlation analysiswas conducted between the variables, and then, through a structural equation model analysis,the mediator effect of meaning in life was verified in the relationship between self-examinationand post-traumatic growth. The result of this research is as follows. First, a meaningful positivecorrelation is investigated between self-examination and meaning in life(r=.60), self-examinationand post-traumatic growth(r=.57), and meaning in life and post-traumatic growth((r=.72,).
Second, in the relationship between self-examination and post-traumatic growth, meaning in lifefunctions as a full mediator. As an individual has a higher level of self-examination, one¡¯spost-traumatic growth is expedited with noticeably vitalized meaning in life. Based on thisresult, the application and limitations of counseling intervention were discussed in this study.
