본 연구의 목적은 자기성찰이 외상 후 성장에 미치는 영향에서 삶의 의미의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 외상사건을 경험한 전국의 성인 남녀 300명을 대상으로 온라인 설문 조사를 하였다. 각 변인들 간의 상관분석을 실시하였고, 구조방정식 모형 분석을 통해 자기성찰과 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 삶의 의미의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기성찰과 삶의 의미(r=.60), 자기성찰과 외상 후 성장(r=.57), 삶의 의미와 외상 후 성장(r=.72)의 관계에서 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 자기성찰이 외상 후 성장에 미치는 직접효과는 없었고, 자기성찰과 외상 후 성장과의 관계에서 삶의 의미가 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 자기성찰 수준이 높아지면 삶의 의미가 활성화되어 외상 후 성장이 촉진된다는 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 상담 개입의 적용과 제한점에 대해 논의하였다.
This study aims to investigate the mediator effect of meaning in life while recognizing theeffect of self-examination on post-traumatic growth. To this end, a nationwide online surveywas conducted targeting 300 people who had undergone traumatic events. A correlation analysiswas conducted between the variables, and then, through a structural equation model analysis,the mediator effect of meaning in life was verified in the relationship between self-examinationand post-traumatic growth. The result of this research is as follows. First, a meaningful positivecorrelation is investigated between self-examination and meaning in life(r=.60), self-examinationand post-traumatic growth(r=.57), and meaning in life and post-traumatic growth((r=.72,).
Second, in the relationship between self-examination and post-traumatic growth, meaning in lifefunctions as a full mediator. As an individual has a higher level of self-examination, one’spost-traumatic growth is expedited with noticeably vitalized meaning in life. Based on thisresult, the application and limitations of counseling intervention were discussed in this study.
