This study is a qualitative research on the experience of an adventure counseling program based on Adler's theory to improve the sense of community in elementary school students. The participants of the program were 32 5th grade students at J Elementary School in Seoul, and the program consisting of a total of 10 sessions was conducted twice a week, for 2 hours per session. Among them, 16 students were the qualitative analysis of participation experience. As a result of the analysis of qualitative changes, the students who participated in the program discovered that they used the embodied self-encouragement by themselves in the course of the activities for their self-soothing or personal achievement. Also, they came to understand others' thoughts through Adventure-based activities, increased their interest in others and experienced positive emotions of cooperation and commitment towards the community. It was identified that these experiences led the subjects to devote and cooperate themselves for the common goal of the group, which thus positively facilitates peer relations and social interest. In addition, through positive reflection, improvement of individual value, competence, and Crucial Cs was confirmed. Finally, the significance of this study was discussed.
