<요 약>

본 연구는 대학생 자원봉사 활동이 지역아동센터 이용아동의 자아존중감 향상에 미치는 효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 문헌을 통해서 대학생 자원봉사 활동의 의미를 살펴보고 아동의 자아존중감 변 화를 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서는 대학생과 아동의 사회인구학적 특성을 살펴보기 위하여 빈도와 백 분율을 산출하였고 Mann-Whitney U test를 실시하였다. 실험집단과 통제집단 아동을 구성하여 자 아존중감 사전, 사후 비교를 위해 t-test 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과 첫째, 대학생들의 자원봉사 활동이 지역아동센터를 이용하는 아동들에게는 새로운 경험이자 즐거운 경험을 통해서 대인관계에 도 영향을 주는 모습으로 이어졌다. 둘째, 집단 프로그램을 이용한 아동들의 경우 사전검사보다 사 후검사에서 자아존중감의 수준이 높아졌으며, 사후검사에서 실험집단과 통제집단 간 통계적으로 유 의미한 결과가 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과 대학생들의 자원봉사활동이 자기개발과 발전, 그리고 더 나아가서 지역사회와 협력적 발전에 기여한다고 할 수 있다.

<Abstract>

This study wanted to examine the effect of volunteer activities of college students on improving self-esteem of children using local children's centers. Through the literature, we searched for at the meaning of volunteer activities for college students and the changes in children's self-esteem. In this study, frequency and percentage were calculated to examine the socio-population characteristics of college students and children and Mann-Whitney U test was executed. And a t-test analysis was performed for self-respecting pre and post-comparison by organizing the experimental group and control group children. As a result of this study, first of all, the volunteer works of college students led to a new and enjoyable experience for children using local children's centers, which also affected interpersonal relationships. Second, in the case of children using group programs, the level of self-respect in the post-examination was higher than in the pre-examination, and the post-test showed statistically significant results between the experimental group and the control group. As a result of this study, volunteer work of university students contributes to self-development and development, and furthermore to cooperative development with the community.
