An Analysis of Research Trends in History of Early Childhood Education

<요 약>
본 연구는 유아교육역사 관련 연구 동향을 분석하기 위해서 1984년부터 2020년 6월까지 학내학술지 에 게재된 유아역사연구 관련 논문 61편을, 10년 단위로 연대별, 연구장소별, 내용주제별 연구 동향 을 분석하였다. 2차에 걸친 자료 수집을 통해 예비연구, 본 연구, 자료 분석 순으로 진행하였다. 연 구 결과, 유아역사연구의 전체적인 연구 동향은 1990-1999년 이후부터 연구 편수가 증가하였고 연 구주제가 연구 다양화된 것으로 나타났고, 연구장소에 있어서는 서양보다는 동양이, 동양 중에서는 한국이, 한국 중에서는 통사적 연구가 상대적으로 편수가 많았다. 내용주제는 한국 유아교육사학, 타국의 역사, 법령·정책 순으로 연구가 많이 되었다. 유아교육역사 연구 활성화 방안으로 유아교육 학계 차원의 논의 장 마련, 예비유아교사 양성과정에 유아교육역사 교과목 신설, 유아교육문화사로 연구주제 확대, 한국 유아교육 정체성 확립을 위해 유아교육역사를 분과 학문으로 정립할 것을 제안 하였다.

<Abstract>
In order to analyze the research trends related to the history of early childhood education, this study explored 61 papers related to early childhood history research published in academic journals from 1984 to June 2020. The papers were investigated by chronology, sites of the research, and content topics on a 10-year basis. Through two rounds of data collection, this study was conducted by the order of the preliminary study, the main study, and data analysis. As a result of the study, the overall research trend of early childhood history research has increased and research topics have been diversified since 1990’s. For the sites of the research, there were more analyses in the East than the West, and the most treated in Korea. There were relatively more syntactic studies in Korea. Content topics were studied in the order of the history of early childhood education in Korea, the history of that in other countries, and laws and policies about it. As a way to revitalize research on the history of early childhood education, this thesis suggested following studies in order to prepare a forum for discussion at the level of academics of early childhood education, to establish a course on early childhood education history in the training course for prospective pre-school teachers, to expand research topics to the history of early childhood education culture, and to form the identity of early childhood education in Korea.
