<Abstract>
This study was intended to analyze the difference in perception of basic vocational
competencies of which pre-service early childhood teachers pre and post student teaching and
relationship between changes in the perception of basic vocational competencies and student
teaching satisfaction. To this end, 134 college students in the Department of Early Childhood
Education were asked pre and post questionnaires for the vocational competencies. And student
teaching satisfaction questionnaire was conducted after student teaching. The data were
collected from May 1th to July 7th 2019. Studies have shown that there are significant
differences in the perception of pre-service teachers before and after student teaching in all six
areas of basic vocational competencies. Groups with highly satisfied in student teaching
experienced significant changes in their perception of the level of vocational basic skills,
excluding communication skills, compared to lower groups. The higher level of satisfaction with
student teaching has shown a significant increase in awareness of one's basic vocational
competencies compared to the lower group. The difference between the pre- and
post-experience perception of the upper and lower groups of students was the biggest in
problem solving ability, and the satisfaction of the student teaching system among the student
teaching satisfaction level was found to be the factor that most positively influences the change
of perception at all levels of basic vocational competencies.
