<Abstract>

This study was performed to examine the occurrence factors of sexual offenses in school

recognized by teachers and search an improvement plan to eradicate sexual offenses in school.

According to this, the study conducted in-depth interview targeting teachers in Seoul who have

dealt with sexual offenses, analyzing them with Colaizzi¡¯s qualitative research. As a result of the

research, the unique culture of teachers and the culture among students proved to be the

occurrence factors of sexual offenses in school. First of all, as for the culture of teachers, it is

not safe for sexual offenses to have a supervisor or a senior teacher with patriarchal values.

Second, pliable rankism and irrationalism in teachers¡¯ room is favorable to sexual offenses.

Third, obedient attitudes of teachers for promotion and vertical culture of decision-making and

following make a friendly culture for sexual offenses. When it comes to a culture of students,

it varies depending on personal relationship, recognition and education of sex and school level.

The result of research proves that it is very important to make an improvement plan and a

realistic educational policy for a safe school culture through prevention of sexual offenses.
