<Abstract>
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of STEAM-based music education on the
young children's musical interest and musical creativity. In this way, this study was to provide
the basic data of STEAM-based music education which could be used in the early childhood
educational institutes. For experimental research, this study was to do research as an object of
five-years-old in full children in 'U' kindergarten located in 'G' City of 'G' Province. For research
object, this study was to compose of total 35 children in two classes: 18 children in the
experimental group (7 boys, 11 girls) and 17 children in the comparative group (7 boys, 10
girls).
From the result of this research above, it may be summed up as follows.
First, STEAM-based music education had effect on the improvement of the overall level of
singing, music appreciation, physical ____expression____ related to music, instrumental performance,
making music, and musical interest as sub-factors of the young children's musical interest.
Second, STEAM-based music education had effect on the improvement of the overall level of
musical fluency, musical imagination, musical originality, and musical creativity as sub-factors of
the young children's creativity.
