<Abstract>
The purpose of this study is to establish work environment risk factors and social support as
the leading factors of burnout to explore the impact on child care teachers' burnout, and to
verify the effectiveness of the negative influence of job environment risk factors on whether
social support can buffer or offset them. Data were collected from 148 teachers working at
childcare centers in Busan, South Korea and were analyzed using correlations and hierarchical
multiple regression. Results shown that the major determinants of burnout among childcare
teachers were found to be a lack of employees¡¯ accomplishment and role conflicts, regarding
work environment. Moreover, in terms of social support factors, family supports and childcare
administrator supports were identified as the major variables that explained teachers¡¯ burnout.
Finally, the findings demonstrated a partial mediation effect of social support on the association
between the risk factors of the work environment and childcare teachers¡¯ burnout symptoms.
