This study aims to suggest sound healing that can be applied in the field of counseling andpsychotherapy by examining the current status of therapeutic application of sound healing, which is growing mainly in the West and is not yet recognized as an independent field inKorea. Sound healing is the therapeutic application of sound waves with the intention ofbringing about a state of harmony and health. It is one of the oldest healing methods. Currently, sound healing can be divided into meditative sound healing, participatory soundhealing, body and energy healing, and facilitative sound therapy. The therapeutic effects ofsound healing, which have been verified through scientific and systematic methods so far, aredivided into physical effects such as pain relief, removal of cancer cell, risk reduction ofcardiovascular disease , and function improvement of immune system, and psychological effectssuch as depression, anxiety, and stress relief. Sound healing that has powerful healing poweron mind and body can be applied in counseling and psychotherapy sessions as a therapeuticenvironment, a means of non-verbal awareness and __expression__ of the client, and a means ofattunement for the client¡¯s emotional and cognitive change. It is expected that sound healing, which has been overlooked for its usefulness compared to the powerful healing power ofsound, will be actively introduced into the field of counseling and psychotherapy in the future.
