The purpose of this study was to examine the research trends on ethical decision-making ofcounseling, and to provide implications for future research. The concept, methods by year,objects, topics, and measuring tools of 57 studies, published from 1991 to 2022 were analyzed. First, the concept of ethical decision-making was defined in various terms. Second, it was foundthat qualitative research has increased recently. Third, the study of school counselors was themost common(29.3%), and almost studies(80.7%) were about case studies, counselorcharacteristics, and the review of specific topics. Fourth, counselor-related characteristics wereused as the main independent variable, when the variable related to ethical decision-makingwere a dependent variable. Fifth, most of the measuring tools were self-developedquestionnaires.
